I know you hate me already for bringing up Christmas.

But you will surely love me again momentarily when I share this extended first look at the upcoming holiday release of Les Miserables, as posted today in the Huffington Post.

I will never forget the first time I saw the stage show in Toronto.

It was a potent piece of theatre and one I have yet to experience again.

Most of the other musical productions of the modern era are garbage.

I’m a classics fan myself: is there any better musical than West Side Story or My Fair Lady?

Ok, so Kiss me Kate counts a wee bit. But that’s another story.

But Les Miz, as it came to be known, remains in my best ever column and this film adaptation will have to sparkle to replace my affections.
