May long weekend.
What are you up to?
Carey Mulligan rarely misfires which is reason enough to want to see this literary adaptation.
A full house of family means I get a break from kitchen duties this weekend but I’ll still sneak in a session to make this:
Sunshine would help for our family outing to do this:
I’m a Liar-Liar-Pants-on-Fire. Yes, I will get on a bike. That video is for my godson-he’s got serious skills to nail down a course, even one as hairy as this one.
Here’s your weekend wrap up of buzz:
Can The Simpsons survive without Harry Shearer? The 71 year old actor has reportedly walked away from contract negations with Fox to return for a 27th season on the hit animated series. Shearer says it’s about freedom to do other work. Fox promises to recast him with “the finest voiceover talent available”. Nice. Shearer is responsible for voicing a host of characters on the show. Here are 10 of his best.
This guy apparently makes millions. I’m not sure I feel for him but is he a brilliant talent? Does Fox makes gazillions off this show? Yes and yes again. There is no Simpsons without Harry Shearer.
Gorgeous work is nothing new from photographer Anna Christine. Take a peek at this stunning series of her daughters. I hope it gives you warmth this weekend wherever you are.
Your long read for the weekend: Does the word spinster have any meaning anymore? Read more in The Walrus: Modern love and being alone forever
“As a single person, love seems like the most abundant natural resource around: it’s in every Tinder match, every set-up, every Craigslist Missed Connection. The problem is how to keep it—or, rather, how to process this raw crude of the heart into marital fuel.”
As for the soundtrack for your weekend, you can’t go wrong with B.B King, who died this week at his home in Las Vegas. Turn it up and have a good one.
R.I.P, Blues Boy.
