Before we bring out the bins and the baubles and dress up our world with red…

Psst. The red is here already.

Yes, yes, just let me be in my red world. It’s okay to be predictable.

 

Designers want me to dress like Spring, in billowing things. I don’t feel like Spring. I feel like a warm red Autumn.

As nice as they are to find, you don’t need a lake or a forest to discover red. Check out this dazzling collection of red in The Paintbox Garden, a blog that takes colour in the natural world seriously.  You will not find a better curated collection of spectacular reds. I’m lucky. The writer, Janet Davis, is a kindred spirit neighbour who prompted this post today with a photo she took of my own pin oaks.
