Throwback Thursdays: Wacky Grooming products from the ’70’s

By September 19, 2013 Life

Forward momentum is all well and good but when you live with teenagers, you need to wander back on occasion. It is the quickest route to parental calm and understanding.  Since I’m 18 in my head, it’s a speedy ride. Everyday frustrations like marathon showers and obsession with grooming products become easier to tolerate: I was there once.

I chide about skin cancer and heat stroke. Better late than never.

No sunscreen, hat or sunglasses. Invincible, baby!

I remind them gently that the natural look is best. Thank goodness Sephora wasn’t invented although it appears I found other sources.

Every haircut is lovely and styles come and go.

Trying for Parisian flair. Or something.

I was a teen of the ’70’s and early ’80’s. No Internet, not much TV

( Brady Bunch, Little House on the Prairie, Starsky and Hutch aside ) but advertising still found me. Here’s your giggle of the day.

Try not to barf at the ad for Love’s Baby Soft. We’ve come a long way. I think.
